Aberdeen Football Club have been given an award by The Scottish Football Partnership to assist with the cost of replacing the fire alarm system and upgrading the floodlights at Pittodrie Stadium. The clubs Vice Chairman George K Yule said, ” On behalf of Aberdeen Football Club I would like to put on record our appreciation for the support given to our club by the Scottish Football Partnership associated with the system improvements we are carrying out at Pittodrie Stadium. The SFP’s co-operation and expediency in dealing with the various safety-related issues we faced is commendable an i’m bound to say that without the intervention and assistance to AFC we would have faced considerable challenges in getting these works carried out. It is most gratifying that this initiative by the Football Partnership recognizes the financial pressures that most Scottish professional clubs are experiencing these days and even more-so that decisions and support (where allocated) are processed without undue delay and bureaucracy”.
