The Scottish Football Partnership (SFP) has made an Award to Burntisland Shipyard A.F.C. to assist with the cost of constructing a new spectator enclosure at Recreation Park. Shippy Secretary, Andrew Beveridge said, “Our club has been a full member of the Scottish FA since 1929 and we are determined to preserve our fairly unique position as an Amateur club with this level of status in Scottish football. In recognition of the Scottish FA’s National Club Licensing criteria we took the decision to join the East of Scotland Football League in 2012 and to begin the process of upgrading and improving our ground. We are continuing to work towards attaining our club licence and to be part of the pyramid structure in Scotland. Without the assistance provided by the SFP we would not have been able to carry out our latest facility upgrade.”
Jim Thomson, Chairman added “We are indebted to the Football Partnership for supporting Burntisland Shipyard in creating our fantastic new enclosure which will be of huge benefit to our supporters and our club on the journey to achieving a Licence. We will continue to work tirelessly to maintain our club’s proud heritage within Scottish football and our local community.”
