The SFP Trust was delighted to award funding of £500 from their new Club Development Grant scheme to Bonnyton Thistle F. C. from the SFA South West Region. The initiative, funded by the SFP Trust in partnership with The Kilpatrick Fraser Charitable Trust and The Clydesdale Bank was developed to assist grassroots clubs in three specific areas – to increase participation by adding a new team to a club’s existing membership; to improve, enhance and sustain existing team activity through the purchase of new training equipment and/or funding First Aid training for coaches or thirdly to support Coach Education.
Bonnyton Thistle F.C. decided to use their award to support First Aid training for nine of their volunteer coaches. The club currently operate 14 teams for both boys and girls ranging from fun-fours to 11-a-side as well as delivering para-football in the local Kilmarnock area. Ian Higgins, President of the club commented “Our thanks go to The Scottish Football Partnership Trust for this award which is greatly appreciated by all at Bonnyton Thistle F.C.”
