Our 2022 Club Development initiative was launched in March this year thanks once again to funding from our long-standing partner, The Kilpatrick Fraser Charitable Trust. The SFP Trust is committed to supporting and promoting inclusive football participation at grassroots level throughout Scotland and this initiative aims to invest in the development and growth of 60 Scottish FA Quality Mark Clubs, with a focus on increasing and enhancing participation opportunities for players and the continued development of volunteers.
Cowie United F.C., a Silver Level Quality Mark Club within the Scottish FA Central region are the latest club to benefit from the scheme. Like so many grassroots clubs, it is run by fantastic volunteers and the club opted to use their £500 grant from this initiative to ensure they had adequate cover of first aiders at all their activities, benefitting the club’s 170 players. Clare Stevenson from Cowie Utd passed on a note of thanks to both the SFP Trust and Kilpatrick Fraser Charitable Trust for this the funding which allowed 15 of the club’s coaches to attend recent First Aid courses.
