Our 2022 Club Development initiative, made possible by funding from our long-standing partner, the Kilpatrick Fraser Charitable Trust, is almost coming to a close. The SFP Trust is committed to supporting and promoting inclusive football participation at grassroots level throughout Scotland and this initiative aims to invest in the development and growth of 60 Scottish FA Quality Mark Clubs, with a focus on increasing and enhancing participation opportunities for players and the continued development of volunteers.
Dundee East Women’s Football were grateful recipients of an award from this scheme. The recently formed football team play every Sunday evening on the Astro pitch at the Quest Arena and around 30 regular attendees enjoy their football at this venue. Iain Birnie from the club commented “Dundee East Women’s Football are delighted to have received a grant of £500 from The Scottish Football Partnership Trust and The Kilpatrick Fraser Charitable Trust. We’ve used the money to buy our own balls, cones, bibs, first aid kit (plus full refill) and goalie gloves. We’ve also bought bags to carry them all in and a storage box. Grateful thanks to Broughty United YFC 2011s for allowing us to borrow their kit but we are now self-sufficient!”
