The SFP Trust was delighted to award funding of £500 from their new Club Development Grant scheme to Mid Annandale A.F.C. from the SFA South West Region. The initiative, funded by the SFP Trust in partnership with The Kilpatrick Fraser Charitable Trust and The Clydesdale Bank was developed to assist grassroots clubs in three specific areas – to increase participation by adding a new team to a club’s existing membership; to improve, enhance and sustain existing team activity through the purchase of new training equipment and/or funding First Aid training for coaches or thirdly to support Coach Education.
Mid Annandale A.F.C., who already have over 230 boys and 60 girls playing across 14 different teams, were keen to grow the game by developing a new Senior Adult Ladies team and the award of £500 was used to support the start-up costs of this new team which included the purchase of team kit, training equipment, initial registration and league affiliation costs. The picture here shows the new ladies team which has attracted around 30 players at one of their first training nights. George Trudt from the club commented “We are extremely grateful to The SFP Trust for this award which has allowed our club to continue to develop, and particularly to progress our young girls youth section to allow them to keep participating in the sport into adulthood.”
