Alan Harrison DUAFC Development Officer said, “The SFP Growing the Game Award funding went towards kitting out our new squad which currently has 21 registered players. The team compete in the West of Scotland under 21’s League and reached the 3rd round of the Scottish Cup before losing out. The two coaches, Roddy Dyer and Iain Morgan have both set out their stall very well and are progressing positively with a very keen bunch of young men. Dumbarton United AFC last had an Under 21’s team way back in 1984 before it then disbanded and the team at the time fed players to local amateur clubs. It is hoped that the present team will grow and move forward to create history for our club with Roddy and Iain aiming to take the team to Amateur Status. Let’s hope we can achieve this for Dumbarton United AFC”.
