Falkirk F.C have been given an Award from The Scottish Football Partnership to assist with the cost of creating a new state of the art 3G surface at the Falkirk Stadium. Falkirk General Manager David White said, “One of the aims of Falkirk Football Club is for it to become a footballing hub for the local community however this was proving difficult to achieve as the first team were training at Stirling University and the pitch at the Falkirk Stadium was only being used once a fortnight. The answer was to install a new artificial FIFA 2 star pitch. This enabled us to bring the first team back to Falkirk for training on a daily basis and also enabled them to become more involved in the local community with a planned schedule of visits to local schools . In addition, it allows us to hire the pitch out to local community teams in the evenings thus achieving our aim of becoming a community hub as well as generating additional income for the club. All of this was only possible with the support of local investors and assistance from the Scottish Football Partnership who were very supportive of our project and the advice and financial assistance offered by them enabled us to complete the project on time and within our budget”.
