Knightswood F.C. were recently granted a Growing the Game award from The SFP Trust in partnership with The Clydesdale Bank. Angela Bitters passed on the thanks of the club and said “We would like to take this opportunity to thank both The Scottish Football Partnership Trust and Clydesdale Bank for this Growing the Game award. Their kind generosity has allowed us to purchase football equipment to allow the kids to participate in football in a fun and safe environment. This age group was put together due to local teams folding and the kids were struggling to get into other teams, as they were full. A parent coach and a local volunteer approached the club asking us to support them start up this age group as they felt it was important for the kids to stay involved in a sport they loved to play, keep them active and help provide essential life-skills to them through playing football. The award has also allowed us to purchase equipment and this has allowed the kids to train each week and participate in games and has also meant that we could offer places on the team to local kids. As you can see from the above picture, the boys are extremely grateful for the support given to them through this Growing the Game award.”
