The Scottish Football Partnership has made an award of new portable changing facilities and a portable floodlighting system to the Merkinch Football Academy. The Academy which holds the prestigious Community Level Quality Mark accreditation with the Scottish FA is based in Inverness and it provides football teams and coaching to local grassroots youngsters. The award from the SFP equates to an investment of circa £40,000 and delighted Academy Chairman Peter Corbett said: “These facilities will make a huge difference, particularly in the winter months as they will allow the whole community access to safe and warm changing areas, and we are very grateful to The Scottish Football Partnership for their support in making this project a reality. Our new floodlighting system will also enable us to offer more coaching evenings during the darker nights and this will help us continue to grow as an organisation as we strive towards achieving our target of becoming a Legacy Level Quality mark group next year”.
