Dean Thistle F.C., a Platinum Level Quality-Mark club from the Scottish FA South-West region recently received funding from the SFP Trust’s James Anderson Grassroots Football Facilities Fund to help with the purchase of a Ball Safety netting system.
The fantastic coaches at this vibrant grassroots club help provide football activity for nearly 400 local children in Kilmarnock. James Nimbley, Club Chairman thanked both the SFP Trust and Mr. Anderson for supporting his young players and said “With the growth of our girls section, we had been looking at utilising two of our 7-a-side pitches to allow our girls to play 11-a-side and this would involve turning the direction of the pitch. As the pitch is bordered by a river, we had been considering putting a netting system behind one goal to stop the ball heading towards the river and the players following it. This new piece of equipment will be a great asset to our club and we are most grateful for this investment.”
