The SFP Trust recently awarded funding to assist Mearns Youth F.C. part-fund one set of 7 v 7 goals to help with the development of its younger players. The club, who were only established a couple of years ago, continue to expand and these new goals will help to increase and maximise the training sessions for the club’s players.
On receiving the award, Steven Robertson, Coach and Quality Mark Co-ordinator commented “As an SFA Quality Mark club, and one which is fully committed to developing and promoting football at grassroots level throughout Laurencekirk and the surrounding area, we are extremely grateful to have received funding support from The Scottish Football Partnership Trust to enable the recent purchase of new 7 a-side goals. Not only has the Trust’s support allowed us to provide the best possible training and match day experience for all the boys and girls associated with the Club, it has also enabled us to further demonstrate our commitment to youth football within the local community as well as our desire to grow the Club year on year. Without the continued support of The SFP Trust, it would take us that wee bit longer to get the Club to where we want it to be and we are extremely grateful for all of the assistance and hard work which the Trust provides, not only to ourselves but across Scotland at all levels of the game.”
