The purpose of The Scottish Football Partnership Trust’s Growing the Game Award, in partnership with The Clydesdale Bank, is to assist Scottish FA Quality Mark clubs add one new team to their playing membership. The funding provided assists with the start-up cost of a new team and is delivered in conjunction with the Regional Football Development staff. This ambitious project aims to create 60 new grassroots teams during the 2016/17 season.

On receiving the award, Jimmy Whelan from the club said “Blantyre Soccer Academy were delighted with the grant funding which we received from The Scottish Football Partnership Trust and The Clydesdale Bank which allowed us to purchase 2 sets of bazooka goals and some footballs to kit out our newly formed 2010 teams.”
