The Scottish Football Partnership is delighted to announce a new working Partnership in 2014 with Show Racism the Red Card Scotland. Show Racism the Red Card is Scotland’s leading anti-racism charity. The charity utilises the high profile of professional footballers as anti-racism role-models to educate against racism in society. The funding provided by the SFP will allow Show Racism the Red Card to work with grassroots football clubs across the country. Clubs from each of the 6 Scottish FA regions will be given the opportunity to participate in the programme. These nationwide events will equip young people playing football and coaches with the knowledge to reject prejudicial attitudes and behaviour and empower them to become responsible citizens challenging racism. Show Racism the Red Card will visit each club over a 3 week period delivering educational workshops and coaching sessions to two teams per week along with their respective coaches. Vicki Burns, Campaign Manager for Show Racism the Red Card said “We are truly excited to be working with The Scottish Football Partnership to deliver this programme. We are delighted that we can support grassroots clubs to challenge racism and educate young people. This kind of work equips young people to deal with racism and prejudice and it will have a positive impact on communities.”
