Disability programme
100 kids and adults introduced to football through taster sessions
10-12 new ‘Stenny stars’ participating on a weekly basis
‘Nice aside’ / ‘Inclusive and active’ format of the game
Jamie Kirk, Community Development Director said, “Our Growing the Game Award from the Football Partnership has given us the boost we needed to grow numbers in our disability programme, a nice a-side has been the positive first steps in our adult learning disability programme “inclusive and active” which kicked off on the back of growth in our “stenny stars” classes for kids. We have further activity planned within 3 local schools and expect to reach in excess of 100 children before the end of this introductory block. Our regular class numbers are starting to experience a peak in interest also and it’s expected that our target of 12 “stenny stars” children per week will be achieved by the end of November”.
