It was fantastic to welcome the kids back to Kilwinning Sports Club for Week 9 of FooTea after the Christmas break. The children had obviously stored up all their energy for the football hour which saw them eagerly practice their defending skills and attacking techniques, where coaches Colin and James encouraged them to try and stop the opposition from scoring and force the players onto their weaker foot. There were many talented strikers on show and Harley and Bailley did well to outrun their opponents and score again and again. The nutritional section was spent learning the difference between natural and processed foods, with the message that natural is always best – and encouraging the children to be smart and make good food choices. Next week we will continue the theme of defending and the educational session will see the children learn how to be sugar and salt smart!
