“Many thanks to the SFP for the funding provided through the growing the game initiative. The grant has been used primarily to provide playing strips for the girls who are currently using borrowed strips from another team when attending festivals. We have also been able to purchase with the remaining funds new balls and cones which will be of benefit to the club as a whole.
The support provided has been a great boost for the U9 girls who are a very enthusiastic group and turn up for training regardless of the weather and show a great willingness and attitude to learn and most importantly enjoy themselves. I think we may be the first girls academy in the Borders and we’ve been very keen to promote girls participation through articles in the local press and the response has been absolutely excellent and bodes well for the future”.
