Muir of Ord Rovers F.C. from the Scottish FA North Region were recently awarded funding from the SFP Trust’s Club Development grant scheme. The Trust is committed to supporting and promoting inclusive football participation at grassroots level throughout Scotland and this scheme aims to invest in the development and growth of 60 Scottish FA Quality Mark Clubs. This year the focus is on increasing and enhancing inclusive participation opportunities for all players and the continued development of volunteers.
Once again, The Kilpatrick Fraser Charitable Trust chose to support this scheme and further investment was received from both The SFP Trust and The Scottish FA.
Martin Godwin from Muir of Ord thanked all sponsors and commented “A year ago we formed a girls team and they have benefitted from having their own training sessions at U10 and U12 level. With this grant, we have been able to buy new goals and equipment for these age-groups which has delighted all the youngsters. A portion of the grant has also been used for Coach Education for our volunteer coaches who are now taking our new U-14 boys squad, helping to train and develop around 40 young players.”
