Our Final Report on our Fitba First project has just been issued to the UEFA Foundation for Children who were delighted with the success of this fantastic initiative.
8,075 individual hours of free fun football, sports first-aid training and health education as well as 6,460 healthy meals delivered to 646 children across 20 projects in 2022.
We are so proud of our project delivery partners;
Park Sports Project, The Falkirk Foundation, Pollok United, Kilwinning Sports Club, Edinburgh South CSC, Annan Athletic, Kilmarnock Community Sports Trust, St Mirren Charitable Foundation, Hibernian Foundation, Motherwell Community Trust, Cumbernauld Colts and St Mirren/Street Stuff.
These clubs enthusiastically embraced the project’s assets to support and nurture the wellbeing and personal development of these young people as well as aiding the knowledge and health prospects of the next generation. A huge thank you must go to Dr. Katy Stewart and the trained First Aid tutors from the Hampden Sports Clinic and, of course, to the UEFA Foundation for supporting young children in Scotland.
“This has been a really successful project and has brought about more awareness with the theory-led sessions tied in with the fun-football and health education. Not only did the children participate really well in the first-aid section which they loved, but it also greatly developed our coaches and has provided the club with new structure and session plans going forward.” St Mirren FC/Street Stuff
