Coatbridge Rovers F.C. were recipients of recent funding from The Scottish Football Partnership Trust’s Club Development Grant scheme which is supported by the Kilpatrick Fraser Charitable Trust.
This vibrant club from the central region provide football for over 233 players, both boys and girls, across 20 teams from mini-kickers through to full 11-a-side football. The funding was used by the club to help support their new 2016 age-group with new equipment as well as putting 10 coaches through Coach Education courses.
Gary Flint from the club commented “We are so grateful for this award which will not only help buy equipment and footballs for these young players but will allow 10 coaches to be put through Education Courses as part of the player pathway for either 1.1, 1.2 or 1.3 (both children and youth & adult). Through this, almost 150 children will benefit from the new knowledge that the coaches will receive on these courses. In addition to this, we have secured a first aid course for 8 coaches whereby approximately 120 children will benefit from the coaches being trained in this area. Overall, by the coaches being trained to a higher standard and a new age group being added, this will make the club a more attractive place for people to bring their children to learn.”
