Girvan F.C. from the West of Scotland Football League recently received an award from the Scottish Football Partnership to assist with the installation of Floodlights at Hamilton Park. As a Scottish FA Member club this project was integral for the Seasiders in meeting National Club Licensing criteria at Entry Level. Andrew Sinclair, spokesperson for the club said; “The Committee at Girvan Football Club would not have managed to erect the floodlights at Hamilton Park without the support of The Scottish football Partnership, other local funders and the fundraising efforts of the supporters. The staff at the Football Partnership were on hand to provide advice and the financial assistance provided is really appreciated. Having the floodlights helps the club to keep its Scottish FA National Club License and also makes our facilities more available for use to other groups in the local community, especially the track which goes around the pitch. This can now be used by the local running club and also for classes like Couch to 5k, there’s even talks going on to establish a go-kart club.”
