Ellon and District Sports Development Trust (SCO45921) is a registered charity and is responsible for the governance of the Meadows Sports Centre in Ellon, Aberdeenshire. The Trust comprises of affiliated club’s, including Ellon Meadows Youth F.C., Ellon United F.C., Ellon Thistle F.C. and Ellon Amateurs F.C. The Sports Centre has a 2G astroturf surface which hosts activity for all of it’s affiliated club’s as well as other local community organisations such Auchnagatt Barons F.C., Thistle Youth F.C. and Formartine Youth F.C.
Unfortunately the aged training goals at the Sports Centre had fallen into a state of disrepair and where no longer safe for ongoing use. To avoid a negative impact on participation The Scottish Football Partnership Trust was able to part fund 2 x sets of new moveable 7v7 goals and help support a more modern, inclusive and safe participation environment for hundreds of local community players.
Kevin Riddell who Manages the Facility on behalf of the Trust said; “The new goals are a huge boost for us as we continue to enhance our offering to local club’s and to drive up participation in football.
