Alloa Athletic F.C., with the help of the award made through the SFP’s Community Initiative, will deliver a multi-strand pilot project involving elements of community and social development as well as football development. The community/social development side of the programme will see initiatives ranging from the formation of ethnic minorities teams to the operation of a street league programme. The Football Development area will concentrate more on the provision of girls’ football, walking football, coach training and over-35s football. Alex Brown, Trustee of the Wasp Community Club commented “These initiatives show that the club is wholly focussed on better serving its community and significant effort will be administered to ensure successful outcomes for both the club and the participants.”
