Club coach Joy Young said,”Caledonian Youth Club, in alignment with the SWFA is committed to growing the game and participation in football for girls at all age levels. We are developing the girls section, building the number of age groups and giving girls the same opportunity to play football which is enjoyed by boys. This award aids us in that endeavour, allowing us to build a strong pathway from early years. With the award we’ve been able to fund training equipment (balls, cones, bibs) and strips for the girls and equip our coaches with the knowledge and skills to coach children from a young age, supporting us in providing female role models in football”.
