The SFP Trust were pleased to be able to assist Hampden Weir RAFC, who are based at Albert Park in Newlands, part-fund the purchase of two sets of 11 -v- 11 goals. This new equipment will help provide activity for the club’s 140 grassroots players. The club’s previous goalposts were in a state of disrepair and no longer fit for purpose when the club first got in touch with the Trust. The Trustees were impressed with the level of activity provided for local youngsters and were delighted to help out. The club’s Chairman, George Gilmour thanked the Trustees for the funding and commented “These new goals have allowed us to continue our matches at Albert Park and has given our Youth and Amateur sides the benefit of playing in a safe environment. Many thanks from all the players at Hampden Weir RAFC.”
