Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic our grassroots game in Scotland faces a critical situation and The Scottish Football Partnership Trust (SC044867) needs your support to create a fund to safeguard its future.
Why we need your help?
We know that 57% of Scottish Grassroots clubs are facing critical financial challenges in the coming months, with player and volunteer numbers already significantly down since lockdown was eased. It will be our young people who are hit hardest by this, with thousands of players lost to the game forever.
This issue will affect children across Scotland, but those from areas of deprivation will feel the impact more than most.
Football is the sport we love and it’s given us all moments to cherish on and off the pitch. From the point a child kicks a ball for the first time, lifelong friendships are formed, confidence grows and memories are made that will last a lifetime. We need to protect this.
Whether it’s about your own son, daughter, or your local community as a whole, grassroots football plays a hugely important role in our culture and in our society. It now needs all our help.
How can you help?
Give for Grassroots – The Grassroots Football Support Fund – has been set up specifically by ‘The Scottish Football Partnership Trust,’ a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation, to ensure our young people have the opportunity to return to the game they love. Whether you are donating your Israel ticket refund or you would like to make a one-off donation, you will directly help one of our affiliated grassroots football clubs in Scotland to get a young player back onto the pitch. A young player who would otherwise be unable to do so.
What next?
You can donate today, with all donations managed by the Scottish Football Partnership Trust. Individual donations, where applicable, can be subject to gift-aid, allowing your support to go further.
Affiliated grassroots football clubs will be able to apply for funds to cover critical costs. This will allow the growing number of disadvantaged young people in their community the chance to play again and remain part of the football family.
Your donation can help change the lives of young people in your local area and across Scotland.
