The Scottish Football Partnership Trust has made a Funding Award to The Budhill Football Academy from the east end of Glasgow to assist them in purchasing portable floodlights.
The club, which has accreditation through The Scottish FA’s Quality Mark scheme, provides football activity for around 90 grassroots players – both boys and girls – at its home facility within the Amulree Recreation Area.
Academy Chairman William McNaught said “We would like to thank the SFP Trust and Glasgow City Council’s Area Partnership for their combined investment of £5,000 which has enabled us to purchase our fantastic new floodlights. Over the winter months these lights will be vital for us as we strive to provide regular football sessions for our younger players at as little cost to them as possible. Our new equipment will allow us to tackle the challenges the darker evenings bring when we are trying to maintain our level of activity and training. As you can see we are already putting the floodlights to good use and they are proving popular with our young players”.
