On Week 6 of FooTea, the youngsters from St. Winning’s and Pennyburn Primaries learned 6 new facts based around encouraging them not to skip breakfast!….. No. 1 – breakfast is the most important meal of the day …. No. 2 – It should be eaten within two hours of waking….. No. 3 – it can provide them with 25% of their daily nutrients …. No. 4 – by breaking their “fast” and eating a well-balanced breakfast, they are providing their bodies with energy to set them up for the day …. No. 5 – a healthy breakfast can help boost their mental and physical performance throughout the school day and No. 6 – drinking water in the morning can help replace fluids lost through sweating in their sleep. After their classroom session, it was on to the pitch with coach James, who added in some more demanding techniques this week which saw the kids volley with the inside of their foot, as well as some chest, head and knee volleys and then it was on to their small sided games. Bailley and Gwilym were outstanding – both scored a hat-trick and certainly deserved their meal in the café! Let’s hope the boys can keep up their goal scoring record as we head into week 7, where they will be coached on positive play and encouraged to take a shot at goal at every opportunity!
