Arniston Rangers Diamonds Y.F.C. from the Scottish FA South East region were grateful to be awarded £500 from The SFP Trust’s Club Development Grant scheme. The initiative, funded by the SFP Trust in partnership with The Kilpatrick Fraser Charitable Trust and The Clydesdale Bank was developed to assist grassroots clubs in three specific areas – to increase participation by adding a new team to a club’s existing membership; to improve, enhance and sustain existing team activity through the purchase of new training equipment and/or funding First Aid training for coaches or thirdly to support Coach Education.
This girls club, based in the Gorebridge area of Edinburgh, operate over four age-levels and have over 50 girls and 8 registered coaches. They decided to use their grant to purchase new footballs and bibs as they had previously been using old equipment gifted from the Arniston Rangers boys’ section. Chris Lennie from the club commented “On behalf of Arniston Diamonds I would like to say a massive thank you for this award. This has allowed us to purchase much needed equipment that will allow our small, newly-formed club to continue to function.”
