supporting players regardless of gender

Despite the growth of the women’s and girls’ game, grassroots football still faces inclusivity challenges that make it difficult for female players to get into the sport.

Our programmes and facility projects are designed to support all players, regardless of gender, and to accelerate the growth of women’s and girls’ football at the grassroots level.

CHANGING FACILITIES

Changing room reconfigurations can help women and girls feel more comfortable in grassroots football environments.

pitch upgrades

With new and improved playing surfaces, clubs can offer additional sessions for women's and girls' teams.

QUALITY FOOTBALL PROGRAMMES

Training of new coaches and provision of equipment and kit supports women and girls getting into the game.

“We now have a girls' section in East Kilbride Youth Club, which is fantastic. I think there’s over 100 members now. Previously, the girls would play in the summer and they couldn’t play at Kirktonholme because the grass was being repaired. Now, they can play the whole year round. It’s a surface that works for the whole club.”
