The SFP Trust was delighted to award funding of £500 from their 2018 Club Development Grant scheme to Middlefield Wasps S.C. from Balmedie in Aberdeenshire. The initiative, funded by the SFP Trust in partnership with The Kilpatrick Fraser Charitable Trust and The Clydesdale Bank was developed to assist grassroots clubs in three specific areas – to increase participation by adding a new team to a club’s existing membership; to improve, enhance and sustain existing team activity through the purchase of new training equipment and/or funding First Aid training for coaches or thirdly to support Coach Education.
The club, who have a membership of over 360 players, opted to use their award to support the start-up costs for a new 2013 team and this will help with new kit and equipment for the young players as they join the ever-growing Wasps family. Andrew Mitchell, Club Secretary commented “Our thanks go to The Scottish Football Partnership Trust for this award which is greatly appreciated. Starting up a new age-group nowadays is costly and any help we can receive from outside sources is gratefully received by everyone at the club.”
