This initiative, which has been supported from funds donated by the SFP Trust, The Kilpatrick Fraser Charitable Trust and The Clydesdale Bank was developed to support and assist grassroots clubs in three specific areas – to increase participation by adding a new team to a club’s existing membership; to improve, enhance and sustain existing team activity through the purchase of new equipment and/or to fund First Aid training for coaches; to support Coach Education.
Steins Thistle were delighted to have received £500 funding from SFP Trust from its new Club Development Grant scheme. The club from Allandale currently has a playing membership of over 150, with 42 registered coaches. Steins will use the their grant to support the start-up of the Little dribblers class for 2-3 year olds and the mini kickers for 4-5 year olds with the purchase of new footballs, cones and equipment to enhance the training and fun drills. Head Coach Arlene McCafferty was most grateful to The SFP Trust for the support provided and commented “This grant will allow our fantastic grassroots club to continue to grow and enhance girls and boys football in our local area”.
