Our 2022 Club Development initiative was launched in March this year thanks once again to funding from our long-standing partner, The Kilpatrick Fraser Charitable Trust. The SFP Trust is committed to supporting and promoting inclusive football participation at grassroots level throughout Scotland and this initiative aims to invest in the development and growth of 60 Scottish FA Quality Mark Clubs, with a focus on increasing and enhancing participation opportunities for players and the continued development of volunteers.
Vale of Leven Football & Athletic Club, a Silver Level Quality Mark Club within the Scottish FA Central region were recent recipients of an award from this scheme. Like so many grassroots clubs, it is run by fantastic volunteers. With this in mind, the club opted to use their £500 funding to further support new coaches coming into the game. Vale of Leven currently operates 19 teams from mini-kickers through to full 11-a-side football for over 250 players aged three and upwards. Angus Wallace, Secretary of the club commented “This award from The Scottish Football Partnership Trust and Kilpatrick Fraser Charitable Trust means a lot to our club as it will let us provide coaching courses for our new coaches and also First Aid training, so they are well equipped when delivering activity for our younger teams.”
