Strathaven Dynamo F.C. were delighted to receive funding of £500 from the SFP Trust’s Club Development Grant scheme to assist them with the start-up costs of their new 2013 age group.
The initiative was developed to assist grassroots clubs in three specific areas – to increase participation by adding a new team to a club’s existing membership; to improve, enhance and sustain existing team activity through the purchase of new training equipment and/or funding First Aid training for coaches or thirdly to support Coach Education.
Strathaven Dynamo from the Scottish FA South West Region has accreditation at Legacy Level within the Quality Mark Club structure and provides opportunities for over 300 players, boys and girls, from fun 4’s all the way through to 11 aside and into the adult game, supported by around 60 coach volunteers.
On receiving the award Frank McGraw, the clubs Chairman commented, “This grant has proved to be of great benefit to our club with the funds being able to provide our new recruits with size 3 balls(enough for one each), samba goals, various coloured bibs, marker discs and cones and first aid equipment. The generous award from The Scottish Football Partnership Trust in conjunction with the Kilpatrick Fraser Charitable Trust allows other funds to be used for coach education and first aid training for the new volunteer coaches for our new recruits. Once again we thank the SFP Trust for their continued support and contributions in the development of Strathaven Dynamo”.
