Douglas lads club have been given an award of changing containers from The Scottish Football Partnership. The kit consisting of two changing rooms, a storage container and a state of the art portable floodlight will complement the clubs existing base at Baldovie Terrace Dundee. Club President Dave Hunter said “our former chairman Gordon Deuchers had a vision for improving the image of the club in the local area and he approached the SFP in the hope that they could assist with providing a better changing facility for the clubs young players”. Dave continued “the SFP have been very helpful from the outset and at times patient as the project has taken a lot longer than anticipated to complete. The award itself will help the growth of football in our area and at Douglas Lads club and on behalf of everyone at the club I would like to thank the Football Partnership for making this possible”. Douglas lads were formed in 1971 and are also part of the Dundee East Community Sports Club. Currently the club are at the Development stage of the Scottish F.A’s prestigious Quality mark due to the number of coaches and players it has spread across teams ranging from fun 4’s to under 13’s. SFP secretary Stuart McCaffrey said “The new set up at Douglas lads is fantastic and the club have been a credit to themselves throughout the whole process. On behalf of myself and the SFP board I would like to wish everyone at the club every success in the future.”
