East Kilbride Thistle F.C. receive “Growing the Game” Award from The SFP Trust and Clydesdale Bank

The purpose of The Scottish Football Partnership Trust’s Growing the Game Award, in partnership with The Clydesdale Bank, is to assist Scottish FA Quality Mark clubs add one new team to their playing membership. The funding provided assists with the start-up cost of a new team and is delivered in conjunction with the Regional Football Development staff. This ambitious project aims to create 60 new grassroots teams during the 2016/17 season.

East Kilbride Thistle F.C. were delighted to receive their award from the SFP Trust which was used to purchase new football tops for their young players, as well as goalposts, balls, water bottles, cones and bibs. Jimmy Stewart from the club commented “The kids were delighted with their new tops and equipment as you can see from this photograph. After only 5 weeks, our soccer school is now full and we have already seen progress through learning new skills whilst still having fun. Our young coaches have also been enrolled on the Scottish F.A.’s 1.1 Early Touches course to start them on their coaching journey. We are most grateful to the SFP Trust and the Clydesdale Bank for this award.”
