Arbroath F.C. have just completed a key infrastructure project supported by The Scottish Football Partnership which involved replacing the roof of the South (seaside ) terracing at Gayfield Park. Over several years the weather and sea air had taken its toll on the steelwork in this part of the ground and following an annual safety inspection the club were informed that action was required to remedy the situation our their safety certificate would be put at risk. This led to an approach to the Football Partnership for financial grant assistance with 50% of the project cost being awarded to the club.
“Arbroath Football Club is extremely grateful to the Scottish Football Partnership for once again providing grant funding towards a project at Gayfield Park. During the summer, a large section of steel work which had significantly deteriorated on the seaside enclosure was replaced and the Club were once again successful with an application for a Facilities Award. The Scottish Football Partnership has assisted Arbroath F.C. several times over the last few years with several initiatives and improvements that have helped the Club to be able to maintain its bronze licence with the Scottish Football Association. These projects might not have been possible without the funding provided and the Club is extremely grateful to the Partnership for its assistance and guidance with its applications and in making the awards”.
