Dalbeattie Star Football Club who play in the Scottish Lowland Football League have been upgrading the facilities at Islecroft Stadium over the past 4 years in line with National Club Licensing guidelines. In addition the ground improvements have taken a targeted approach to ensuring a safe and secure facility is available for the clubs players, officials, supporters and for the wider use by the community. The latest project which received grant funding assistance from The Scottish Football Partnership has seen new terracing installed at the front of the main stand with the clubs original terraced area been deemed no longer fit for purpose and a cause for concern from a Health and Safety perspective.
“As 2020 has been a year of difficulties for our game with financial restrictions due to the lack of supporters and sponsorship it is greatly appreciated that the Scottish Football Partnership has invested in this project along with club funds .The Club are grateful to Stuart McCaffrey of the Partnership for his assistance and to the members of the Board for their support in this initiative”.
