Partick Thistle F.C. was recently awarded funding from the SFP to help improve the current disabled access availability around Firhill Stadium. The main entrance to the disabled section has been resurfaced and a new ramp has been added which has greatly enhanced the access facilities for the club’s disabled supporters. Previously there were no disabled toilets in the Jackie Husband Stand but this Facilities Award has assisted in the installation of these services.
Ian Maxwell from the club commented “These improvements have greatly increased the match day experience for our disabled supporters by making access easier and by allowing admittance to areas of the stadium which were previously not available. Already a Partick Thistle F.C. Disabled Supporters Club meeting has been held in one of the lounges at Firhill on a matchday, which would have been impossible prior to these improvements taking place. The club is most grateful for the help and assistance which it received from the Scottish Football Partnership to allow this project to be completed”
