Threave Rovers F.C., based in the town of Castle Douglas, were recently granted a Facility Strategy award to assist with the costs of upgrading the Medical Room at Meadow Park. This thriving club, who are full members of The Scottish FA and play in the South of Scotland League were crowned Champions of that League in season 2017/18. As an SFA Licensed club, provision of suitable medical facilities were of paramount importance to Threave Rovers F.C. and they were keen to upgrade and renovate an old outbuilding into a modern, fit for purpose medical room to meet new licensing criteria. The club’s youth set-up have almost 200 participants from youngsters taking their first steps into the game through to their Under-17 players and this new facility will support all users of Meadow Park.
Davy McMath, Club Secretary was grateful for the funding and commented “The Scottish Football Partnership has once again provided invaluable support to Threave Rovers FC during a recent refurbishment of the club’s Medical Room. The completed project will not only allow players but also supporters the comfort of knowing that excellent medical facilities are available should these be required during any emergency within the Stadium. Threave Rovers F.C. is a progressive community focused club which strives to provide the best facilities for the local community and surrounding areas to enjoy sport and recreation in a safe environment. The cost of carrying out this refurbishment work was very prohibitive but with the support of Stuart and funding from The Scottish Football Partnership we have been yet again able to deliver a first class facility within the club.”
