Fair City Juniors F.C. based in South Inch, Perth were recently granted an award of £500 from The SFP Trust’s 2019 Club Development Grant scheme. The initiative, funded by the SFP Trust in partnership with The Kilpatrick Fraser Charitable Trust, was developed to assist grassroots clubs in three specific areas – to increase participation by adding a new team to a club’s existing membership; to improve, enhance and sustain existing team activity through the purchase of new training equipment and/or funding First Aid training for coaches or thirdly to support Coach Education.
Through its children’s football development pathway, Fair City JFC, a quality-mark club from the SFA East Region, provides opportunities for youngsters from the age of three to take their first steps into the sport and to continue playing football all the way through their various age-groups. The club currently operate with a playing membership of almost 130 players supported by 84 registered coaches and were keen to continue their development by introducing a new girls’ section. Their award will help support the costs of this new team. Gail Hamilton, the club’s Vice-Chairperson said “Many thanks for this fantastic award. As a totally new section for our club it means that we can purchase footballs and strips and also guarantees that the girls get to continue their football journey throughout winter with indoor training. Their new strips will ensure that the girls get to feel part of such an amazing club!”
