Focus of the Fund
The ‘Give for Grassroots Fund’ was set up by The Scottish Football Partnership Trust in conjunction with The Scottish Football Association. Funding was raised to specifically support individual players at community football clubs who were suffering through financial hardship because of the Covid-19 pandemic and who were at risk of dropping out of the game. Affiliated clubs were encouraged to apply for funds to cover 12 months of critical participation costs for disadvantaged playing members so that financial barriers could be removed, allowing the player to get back on the pitch and remain part of the football family.
