The purpose of The Scottish Football Partnership’s Growing the Game Award is to assist Scottish FA Quality Mark clubs add one new team to their playing membership. The funding provided assists with the start-up cost of a new team and is delivered in conjunction with the Regional Football Development staff. This ambitious pilot project aims to create 60 new Grassroots teams during the 2014/15 season.

Forfar Farmington F.C. was delighted to receive a grant from The Scottish Football Partnership’s “Growing the Game” Initiative. The club currently have 42 girls signed and an additional 13 still to be registered in their teams at Under-7 and Under-9 level.
With the funding, the club were able to purchase a set of 4 –v- 4 samba goals, as well as some footballs and training bibs small enough to fit these young players. The club hope that their development team will be able to start a girls only 4 -v- 4s session on a Saturday morning at Station Park in Forfar. The young players from the new teams are featured in the above photograph.
