Our new 2022 Club Development initiative was launched in March this year thanks once again to funding from our long-standing partner, The Kilpatrick Fraser Charitable Trust. The SFP Trust is committed to supporting and promoting inclusive football participation at grassroots level throughout Scotland and this initiative aims to invest in the development and growth of 60 Scottish FA Quality Mark Clubs, with a focus on increasing and enhancing participation opportunities for players and the continued development of volunteers.
Coatbridge F.C., from the Central region is a bronze Quality-Mark club who operate four teams for youngsters born between 2007 and 2017. They recently received funding through this initiative to help with the costs of setting up their new 2017 team. Raymond McDonald from Coatbridge F.C. thanked the SFP Trust and The Kilpatrick Fraser Charitable Trust for this grant and commented “This award makes a massive difference to our 2017 team. We only have a small number of kids as we have just started the team. The money we bring in on fees barely covers the cost of the parks so we didn’t have any funds to buy the equipment that these kids needed to learn and play football. The 2017 team used one of our other teams equipment when we first started. The Scottish Football Partnership Trust Fund has meant that our 2017 team was able to buy their own equipment (balls, bibs, cones, first aid kit, bag). Thank you for your support, from everyone at Coatbridge F.C.”
