Week 8 of FooTea at Kilwinning Sports Club

December 20, 2016

Last Friday saw the completion of Week 8 of FooTea before the kids stopped for the Christmas break.  The football hour was spent on developing the players’ shooting skills and this has definitely been one of their favourite sessions, with all players being encouraged to make a 1-2 pass and then a shot at goal.  The children were split into groups and it became extremely competitive as each team kept a record of the number of goals scored!  Harrison and Yazmin were the leading goalscorers, but the others certainly weren’t far behind.  The educational session was spent teaching the youngsters the importance of hygiene and table manners and they were well versed in the do’s and don’ts at the dinner table – these lessons were certainly put into good practice when they made their way to the café for their vegetable pasta.  All the kids remembered to thank Sandra for preparing the food and cleared away their own dishes from the table.  As you can see from the photographs, everyone then got into the festive spirit with their santa hats and reindeer antlers as we all attempted the mannequin challenge!  We look forward to seeing the kids from Pennyburn and St. Winning’s Primary after the Christmas break when the football theme will be based on defending and the team talk on nutrition will focus on the difference between natural and processed foods.
